Applications Open For Austin Music Disaster Relief Fund

Known as the “Live Music Capital of the World”, Austin has been a beacon of entertainment for generations with its vibrant music scene. As the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the City, music venues were forced to close their doors to mitigate the spread of the disease and Austin musicians began to quickly feel the economic impact. On April 23, the Austin City Council designated $1.5 million for the Austin Music Disaster Relief Fund, a grants program for Austin’s most vulnerable musicians experiencing economic hardship.

Applications opened on Monday, June 8 at 10 a.m. and will close on Friday, June 12 at 5 p.m. Eligible local musicians who are able to demonstrate loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic may apply for a $1,000 grant, with the fund awarding on a first-come, first-serve basis.
